Thornless Gooseberry red

This virtually thornless gooseberry blooms early with beautiful yellow flowers. From March and April, these will adorn this plant. This thornless gooseberry is a deciduous shrub that is hardy. The shrub is self-pollinating. It is a sunbather: the more sun the more fruits the plant will bear and the tastier they will taste. Spinefree is a lovely border plant but as a slate shrub it is also beautiful.

The gooseberries are packed with vitamins and minerals and super healthy. So they are delicious to eat on their own, but also perfect for dessert, in yoghurt, jam, pies or processed as juice.
